Offer songbirds a warm retreat from harsh winter weather using the Coveside Small Winter Roost. This roosting box features a 1.5" entrance opening at the bottom, ideal for keeping warmth within the box as birds rest. As warm air rises, it is trapped inside the abode rather than exiting through the entrance hole, ensuring that residing birds will remain toasty. A trio of perches inside the shelter offer room for several birds to comfortably roost at once, and the front of the box lifts upward for easy cleaning and observation, with an "L" shaped metal hook keeping the panel securely closed. The small entrance hole is protected by a repurposed slate guard sourced from old Maine architecture to discourage pillaging squirrels, and this unit's slanted roof allows water to run off of it, rather than into the home as birds take solace from the elements. Use the included metal hanger to easily mount this roost on a tree or post, facing the entrance away from prevailing winds for maximum protection. Handcrafted from solid, eastern white pine, this shelter will age to a beautiful silver patina, and will never need to be painted or stained. Give birds the comfort and safety they need to hunker through the winter elements with this Small Winter Roost. Made in the USA.
